Thanks to some generous donors, HNSNA will fund two live and three virtual diversity scholarships to promote equity and inclusion at #HNS2023.
This award is for writers of historical fiction from underrepresented groups including, but not limited to, BIPOC writers (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender writers.
The scholarship covers basic, early-bird registration for first-time HNS North America attendees to attend either the virtual or on-site conference. If the awardee attends the on-site conference, two complimentary hotel nights and travel reimbursement up to $250 will also be awarded.
To apply, please submit a brief statement (500 words max) detailing your writing project(s) and why this scholarship would be meaningful to you. Also indicate if you will be attending the conference live or virtually.
Submit by January 15, 2023 to HNS Secretary and Communications Chair Maryka Biaggio at biaggiom@hevanet.com.
