The Historical Novel Society North America conference (#HNS2023) is the conference for historical novelists. Over 600 writers (in-person and virtual) will be attending our tenth biennial conference from June 8 to 10, 2023, in San Antonio, TX.

Almost all our attendees are novelists—traditionally published, self-published, and unpublished—who are eager to learn and grow as writers. The theme of #HNS2023 is The Working Writer. Our goal is to explore ways in which historical novelists can thrive in a post-pandemic world—a world in which writing, publishing, and connecting with readers has changed considerably in a very short time.

The Histfic Hub is the heart of the conference located in the lounge area where all attendees meet and mingle before, during and after sessions for two days.

• Two representatives are invited to attend the conference luncheon on both conference days

The Readers Festival is held on Saturday, July 10, 2023 at the Marriott Rivercenter and is open to the general public in addition to all conference-goers.

Interested in being a Historical Novel Society North America Conference sponsor? Here are a few things you should know: A sponsor must offer a service that will benefit HNS members in the pursuit of their professional goals, must be open to doing business with HNS members, and must operate ethically and be in good standing in the publishing community. Because sponsorships are designed to be dynamic and reach both in-person and virtual attendees, sponsors may need to work closely with several members of the HNS board to ensure a successful collaboration. Sponsorships will be invoiced via Paypal.
