ISOBEL CARR [Presenter, Friday evening “Hooch through History: From Mead through Martinis” spirit-ual tasting flight] is a bestselling author of historical romance and has presented historical clothing and food workshops at conferences and colloquiums all around the world. Her 40-plus years as a historical re-enactor have concentrated her research on recreating clothing and food as closely as possible. Sometimes this means brewing her own ale, finding a source for isinglass, figuring out what eighteenth century gin really tasted like, or hunting down a sixteenth century waffle iron (all of which is worth it when it comes time to sit down at the table). DAVID MACEMON [English Country Dance Caller/Instructor: Saturday Night Regency Masquerade “Hellfire at HNS” Afterparty] was fortunate, many years ago, to be introduced to dance when he was invited to help start a high school performing group that demonstrated English Country Dance as well as other dance styles. He has been dancing and teaching ever since. David is known for his patient and clear teaching style; and he especially enjoys introducing new friends to the joy of dance. His choice of dances is fun and very achievable. David’s theory about dance is, if you’re mobile, and know your right from your left, about half the time, you can be wildly successful. Come on out and dance!
